Lamb in the Tigers' Den: Prologue

It was an immensely hot day in the middle of summer; with temperatures rising above 38oC. The humidity was high due to the torrential rain during the past two days – the perks of being in a tropical country; unpredictable climate. Heat waves streamed up from the heated concrete road accompanied by the constant symphony of buzzing of flying insects, chirping crickets and the occasional rustling of the trees.

Yue stopped mid-trek, lowering herself to a squat. Sighing in defeat, she quickly made her way into the shadows of the trees by the side of the road and settled herself onto the mud. Pulling her canteen from her backpack, she cursed to no one in particular at the bad luck she had when her car decided to break down in the middle of the bloody mountain. It was bad enough that she had to be out of the comfort of her hotel on a day as hot as today and now she had to make her way up the mountain on a route designed for vehicles – that meant no rest-stops, vending machines or emergency phone booths.

Following the trail up the mountain would take her another two hours or so, perhaps longer considering the number of stops she had to take to get herself out of the unrelenting sun. One thing she was glad of was that before her trip to this rural town, she had chopped off her waist long hair in preparation for her upcoming role.
Yue was an actress-in-training. Well, she likened herself to one. To put it more accurately, Yue was a stunt double. She had already starred in a handful of motion blockbusters – as the stars’ stunt doubles to be precise. Her upcoming role was for a movie that was set in ancient china, in a Shaolin monastery and it required her to be able in basic Chinese Wushu.

The main reason why she was trekking up a mountain at eleven in the morning trying to reach the summit where a traditional Chinese martial arts dojo was located, that allowed her to video tape the lessons and copy the theory books.

Gulping down mouthfuls of water, she checked Googlemaps on her cell phone. Besides following the trail up the mountain, Googlemaps presented another way up - although it was not advised to. The terrain and slope of the mountain was unmapped, but it was possible to hike upwards through the jungle that covered the main bulk of the mountain.

It was almost noon, and the sun was reaching its highest point of the day. That meant that if she took the vehicle trail, she would have the sun burning directing down upon her, whereas if she went into the jungle, she would have lots of canopy protection. The thought of getting out of the sun made her giddy with glee as she replaced her canteen into her backpack and stood up dusting her backside.
Up and into the jungle it is.

Life as a stunt double was good. The exposure was good. The experience was important. Best of all, the pay was supremely enchanting. Sure, the risks involved in being a stunt double were high, but that was what insurance was for wasn’t it? Yue had met her biological parents once before – they were a nice couple, but they did not regret dumping Yue at the door of the orphanage. Yue was fine with that, truly, to put it bluntly, she was thankful to a certain extent; because the decision made by her parents when they were younger had moulded her into someone independent; someone who was capable of living life for herself.

Checking back against Googlemaps once again, Yue noted that although she was still far, the ground she had covered on this route would have taken her an additional half an hour on the vehicle’s pass. Smirking at her own wit, Yue bit her tongue a second after, having tripped over an exposed root and dropping her phone into the thick understory.

“Damn it!”

She riffled through the understory trying to spot her phone and a glint from her right made her thank the heavens that the sun was shining. Reaching for the little device, the ground beneath her foot shifted all of sudden. Grasping the little device in her palm, Yue stifled a scream as she tumbled headlong into the understory and was shocked to find that it was deeper than she had expected it to be.

Landing hard onto her left shoulder, Yue winced as a dull ache started to throb from within the bone. Sitting upright, Yue checked her phone and was relieved to see that it was still working albeit without any signals. She patted about her body to spot any other injuries and released the breath she didn’t know she had been holding. Looking up, Yue tried to spot the route that she had fallen from but was surprised to see the white of a building.

Confusion wrecked at her brain as she stood up – how had she reached the dojo if she had fallen downward? Dusting herself slightly, Yue replaced her cell phone into her side pocket and made her way towards the building.

She froze mid-step when she felt a foreign hand land on her bruised shoulder, squeezing it slightly.

“Stop right there.”

Lion Princess and Snake Prince

Had the sudden urge to continue this short (?) story of the two. I don't recall how I had planned the story to go on last time, but since the bunnies are around me now, I just thought "Why not?", so here it is!

Soooo, let's see how I shall continue this Dramione fic eh?

*~*

Her head throbbed dully as she flipped herself around, staring up at the red and gold decorations hanging from the ceiling. A sob escaped her lips as she pulled a pillow over her face - tears leaking from her already swollen eyes. She didn't understand why them of all people would doubt her. They were her best friends. And he was Ron!

Her heart ached painfully as she let out muffled sobs into the soft cotton. Sitting up abruptly, Hermione threw the pillow across the room; all her frustrations, the misgivings and all the emotions she had pent up were threatening to explode from within her. She walked past the bone-aching heels she had kicked off before throwing herself on the bed and up to the mirror.

She looked like a wreck. Swollen red eyes, accompanied by a stuffed red nose, smeared eyeliner and streaks of mascara ran down the side of her face. Sniffing slightly, Hermione removed her earrings - those amethyst teardrops which her mother had given her for her 16th birthday - and the many pins she had used to keep her hair in place.

She pitied the girl in the reflection. The boy she had a crush on just accused her of being a traitor to her own people; her own house; her own family. She was Head Girl, but she had nothing else to her name. She was a mudblood, she was just a nobody. Sighing sadly, Hermione turned away from her repulsive reflection and headed for the bathroom.

She sank deep into the bathtub; the hot water was comfortable on her skin. Leaning back, she closed her eyes and allowed her thoughts to roam free. She allowed herself to cry once again over Ron. She thought back to all the times she had silently wished for Ron, for him to see how much she loved him. She thought back to when they found out she was Head Girl, how happy they were until they found out who was Head Boy. Even then, the two of them had been supportive; promising her that if Malfoy dared to do anything to her, they would be there to punch his guts out.

It was all different now.

She stayed in the tub until the water turned cold and her skin had started to wrinkle. By then, her eyes were even more painful and the headache was throbbing even more. She released the water from the tub and dried herself, changing into her flannel pajamas. Her hair was still silky from the potion she had used for the ball - she ran her fingers through the silken strands, wishing they were like this everyday. She had found a spell to get rid of frizziness from hair, but didn't have the courage to try it out. Until now that is.

She decided that once the potion wore off, she would cast the spell to her own hair. Wincing slightly from the throbbing in her temples, Hermione brushed her hair swiftly as she exited to the common room, craving for a cup of hot chocolate.

The fire in the fireplace was low and the entire common room felt a little too homely. The broken shards from the vase laid where she had last saw them - Malfoy was not back yet. She removed her wand from her pocket and muttered the repairing spell non-verbally. She watched as the shards flew back together, piecing themselves back with perfection and speed. Hermione picked the vase up, muttering a soft apology before replacing it on the table top next to the door.

Sighing again, Hermione looked around the common room. The crests of Gryffindor and Slytherin hung proud from the drapes on the ceiling and walls. If only that were true. She turned away in disgust at the crests - she felt like she didn't belong here anymore.

She made her cup of hot chocolate and settled down in front of the fireplace. The crackling flames were a comfort to her. She watched lazily as the flames danced around to an unknown rhythm; her eyelids getting heavier with each passing minute. Placing the cooling mug on the carpet next to her, Hermione laid her head against the seat of the armchair behind her, slowly drifting off to sleep.

Gonna take it real slow now! :/

10-Second Amnesia

10-second Amnesia

Kuroko no Basket is one of my current favourite manga/anime and boyyyy is there seriously alot of fan service for us fujoshis. Hehehehe <3

*~*

“Who are you?”

It was just ten seconds – the time taken for Tatsuya to blink once; to take in the situation; to see the car; to even work up the voice to get his attention.

Ten seconds - was all it took.

“I’m a murderer.”

Had he only been quick enough; observant enough – he would have been able to stop it from happening.

The blood in his body ran cold. He lost all feeling in his arms and legs. His ears were ringing slightly and all he could see was red.

Dark red.

Seeping deep within the whites of their jerseys - overwhelming all the other colours.

Overwhelming his purple.

His vocal chords seared as his voice escaped his lips. He dropped the bags of snacks he had been helping the other carry; his legs working faster and harder than they ever did. He pushed past the by-standers, unable to hear their frantic whispers; their calls for aid – nothing but his dulling eyes had his attention.

Dark red.

It was everywhere. Tatsuya kneeled beside the broken body, his tears streaming freely.

“A-atsushi.. Atsushi! Atsushi!”

His name first came out as a whisper – afraid that even the slightest sound would bring more hurt. Then, it became a sob; repeated over and over and over again – wishing fervently that this was nothing but a nightmare, one that he would be able to wake up from.

“Who are you?”

He reached for paling fingers, grasping them tightly within his own. His vision blurred from the tears that wouldn’t stop. He felt him return a squeeze – as if trying to say “I’m okay”.

“I’m a strayer.”

Strong arms wrapped themselves under his arms and pulled. Tatsuya struggled to escape, unwilling to stray away from him.

“ATSUSHI! ATSUSHI! NO-NO PLEASE NO! ATSUSHI!”

Tatsuya sobbed as those arms pulled at him relentlessly. Their contact broke as Tatsuya was pulled back. Tatsuya fought against his restraints, throwing punches and kicks to those who were holding him. But to no avail, he watched as they loaded him into the back of the ambulance; watched as they placed the oxygen mask upon his face; as they shut the doors and as they drove away.

“Who are you?”

Tatsuya stared at the sky; the winter sky was a darker blue and the wind was bitter cold.

Eight months had passed since the accident; and three months since he returned to school. It was as though nothing had changed – life went on per normal for everyone, basketball trainings had continued every day after school, the final year students were mugging for their papers – and yet, everything had changed.

Everything was changing.

Every ten seconds to be exact.

“I’m your lover.”

Atsushi‘s eyes widened a little before he leaned forward, pulling Tatsuya in an embrace, closing the distance between their lips swiftly.

It was all too familiar. Although his mind could not remember – his body sure did. His tongue licked the other’s lips, seeking entrance. The smooth muscle danced to an unknown tune with the other; longing for more. Atsushi pulled Tatsuya tighter into his embrace, not wanting to let the shorter boy go.

This scent, his scent was all too familiar. This heat, his heat was something he knew very well. And yet he could not remember how or from where.

“Who are you?”

Atsushi stepped back; wondering why he was embracing a stranger.

He watched those sad black eyes blink once as a tear rolled down the side of Tatsuya’s face. A small sad smile grew on the boy’s lips as more tears threatened to fall from his eyes.

A sudden sharp pang hit Atsushi in his chest as he watched the black haired boy give a slight shake of his head as he took a step backwards.

“I’m just a passerby.”

Tatsuya retreated back another step; his heart wrenching painfully. Suppressing the sob that was threatening to escape, Tatsuya gave his beloved purple giant another sad smile as he watch him forget him all over again.

“Goodbye.”

Dramione.. I think?

The hand that was placed upon his right shoulder twitched as they twirled around once more. Even with her eyes closed, she could already picture the grimace fixed upon those pale lips. She felt her brows knit together as she felt his body stiffen.

Is it that terrible to dance with me?

She thought silently as she reopened her eyes and looked everywhere except for the grey eyes that were glaring at her. She did not even know that they had to open the dance for the entire student body. As the head girl, she felt that it was her responsibility to not reject anything the school proposed. But this was one of the few times, she wished she had rejected.

He was dressed in a velvet dressrobe. A slick bow-tie adorned his neck, while the tails of the robe danced beautifully behind him as they twirled around the Great Hall. He had left his platinum blonde hair alone today; not one part of his hair was gelled back.

If he were less the prat he were, she might have considered him hot. But as things were, she scolded herself for even thinking about how good-looking he was. No matter how nice the appearance was, she should never judge a book by a cover, much less a Malfoy.

As they twirled ‘round the dance floor, Hermoine eyes flicked up towards those grey pools of emptiness, she turned away as soon as she saw the look of contempt glaring back at her.

She was after all just a filthy mudblood. No matter how long had passed, she would still remember the time during her second year where Draco had called her that for the first time. It had pained her to hear those words, even more when rumors of her bloodline started to spread within the entire student body.

Sure she wasn’t the first muggle-born to be admitted into Hogwarts. But she was indeed the first muggle-born to have invoked such hatred from a certain member of a dignified (to certain extents) pure-blooded family.

She sighed audibly and decided to tune those bad memories out of her head. This wasn’t the time to remember those dreadful events, especially not when her dance partner was the one who cause those events.

"What mudblood? Bored of dancing with me?” The young Malfoy hissed, loud enough for only the girl before him to hear.

Hermoine glared at him and huffed angrily. She really didn’t want her evening to be spoiled by this prat of a head boy opposite her. The said boy led the two of them slowly to a stop as the music ceased to play. He bowed slightly with a sneer painted on those handsome features as she curtsied back to him with a half-hearted smile as the applause from the by-standers grew.

She turned and strolled away quickly with her head held high. She was a Gryffindor, and no Gryffindor was going to walk away with their head down. She was the Gryffindor Princess, and he was the Slytherin Prince.

She smiled at her two best friends as she approached them. She was expecting them to comfort her for having to dance with the Malfoy. But the look she got from Ron, told her otherwise.

"So. Enjoyed dancing with that ferret did you?" The red-head snapped. "And i though you were different from all those Slytherin girls."

"What is your problem Ron? In which way did i look like i was enjoy that?” Hermonie retorted; her eyes starting to sting.

"You kept smiling, and you kept holding on to him. When did this start Moine? When did you become that traitor? Falling for that Slytherin scum." Ron sneered.

Harry watched with apprehension as Hemoine struck Ron across the left side of his face. Hermoine looked livid and Ron was dumb-struck, either from the slap or from how Hermoine looked after he said that line.

Hermoine turned tail and ran. She ran as quickly as she could in high-heels. She ran even though the stitch at her side was hurting badly.

"Unity." Hermoine called out to the portrait of a bald monk picking fruits.

The portrait swung open to reveal the shared common room decorated with various golden-red, silver-green hangings. She picked the nearest vase by the side of the opening and threw it against the wall and screamed in frustration.

A story I found abandoned in my tumblr's draft page. I have no idea when I started to write this, but damnn, I think my writing then was rather fluid. >_<

Just A Little Bit Of Sucking And Tonguing

A/N Been long since I wrote a story. Hahas, so this should be my come-back piece. Hahas

This one-shot was presented to my head after watching how Shiranui saved Sano in episode 15. I wondered why no one wrote anything about that encounter and decided ‘why not be the first?’ Hahas Then they met once again in episode 17, and I was certain they had chemistry.

SPOILER** I read on deviantart that Sano was going to die in episode 18 (but seeing how the subbed version ain’t out yet…), but I like him, so I ain’t gonna kill him off.. T_T
Disclaimer: I owe nobody from this awesome anime/game/manga. They belong to Idea Factory! Although the plot is entirely made up of my own fantasy. Enjoy and review!!

*~*

His grip on the reinforced metal tightened as he watched the purpure headed man walk away. Although he could not see his face, Sanosuke was certain that a smirk would be evident on those lips.

“I will repay my debt.” Sano announced as he watch the other waved his hand in acknowledgement.

Having been assisted by that man, no scratch that, by that demon Shiranui Kyou, Sano found himself respecting that man a little more than before. He turned and looked down the street he had been spying on before, but somehow his mind was already wrapped around that gun-wielding demon.

Cursing inwardly, Sano gave up spying – having his head full of nonsense at a time like this was going to get him killed no less. He decided to end his patrol prematurely and return to the temporary headquarters he and Shinpachi now owned.

He still had to figure out how on earth he was going to repay the demon for saving him and his comrades that day when the Rasetsu had completely surrounded them.

The chance came sooner than he had expected it, and in the most ridiculous manner.

It was in the dead of the night when the Rasetsu, created by Koudou ran amok in Edo. Mindless blood-thirsty zombies slaughtering whoever that was in their path; innocent blood covered the alleys and roads, the river that ran through Edo was now a sea of red.

Sano led his squad of thirteen men into the fray where a group of citizens were being devoured. His spear slashed through skin and clothes drawing blood, but nevertheless, the vampiric enemies still rose every time. Etched upon their faces were cruel sadistic smiles as they tore through skin and bone to reach the warm crimson life-giving liquid beneath.

Left, behind, right, upfront.

His instincts were probably the one thing that was keeping him alive at times like these. Even before he heard or saw anything, his mind told him to dodge, the silver sword slashed the air where his neck was at mere moments ago; adjusting his spear quickly he forced it deep into the body of the Rasetsu, his right hand reaching for his sword and severing the head from the body. The head did a few somersaults before hitting the ground with a sick thud. Blood spurted out from the severed neck and the body fell limply against the length of the spear.

Sano released the body from the spear and turned towards another Rasetsu. If the situation wasn’t as dire as it was now, Sano knew that he would be rolling over the ground laughing at the sight. The Rasetsu before him was drooling, his eyes unfocused and he was missing his nose. Alas, this was not the time for merry-making, and so Sano engaged this undead in a fierce battle where one was destined to perish, and Sano knew it would not be him.

“CAPTAIN!”

Sano winced at the bloodcurdling scream of his comrade. From his peripheral vision he could see the man struggling to get rid of the mouth attached to his neck as other Rasetsu approached him. Another pulled hard on his arm and ripped it from its socket; slurping up the blood that was gushing out from the open wound.

“Keisuke.” Sano muttered as he stabbed the Rasetsu before him.

There was nothing Sano could do but watch as the Rasetsu devoured him. Sano wondered if Shinpachi was facing the same situation as he was in the West of Edo. And if he were, Sano hoped that he was doing better than he was. From the looks of things, it would be a matter of time before he would be out numbered. There were too many of them, and the odds were against him. They were able to stand even after getting stabbed. The only way to take them down was to either stab them directly in the heart or cause a wound so drastic that it was impossible for them to recover.

However, with the armor they were wearing, it was difficult for knives and swords to penetrate deep enough, at least not without using a hell load of strength.  Decapitating them was a better choice, but that meant getting close to them, and if he were not careful, it might just be the last thing he might ever do.

Sano ran his sword across the abdomen of the Rasetsu before him, and watched in amazement as organs trailed after his sword and hung loosely over the wound. But that was still not enough, the thing continued to swing its sword dangerously close to Sano although its movements were slowed. Sano took this chance to side-step it and swing his sword down onto the back of the neck, satisfied to hear a dull crack and the head falling limply over the shoulder facing him.

It smirked and its body turned to face Sano again. Even with its guts hanging from the side and its neck broken, it still fought back. Its head kept lolling around in sick imitation of a pendulum.
Just as he was about to deliver the final blow (or what he thought was the final blow), he felt sharp incisors pierce through his skin just above his collar bone. Powerful arms wrapped around his torso like how the many women he visited at the different brothels had done so before; but he knew this was horrifyingly different.

“ARGHHHH!”

He felt his vocal cord burn with the ferocity of his voice. The pain that coursed through his entire body was excruciating, a type of pain he had never felt before. It was very different from the type of pain you might feel when a sword sliced you, or when a bullet hit you.

It felt as though he was on fire internally, like acid was being poured over every inch of his body. His fingers and toes were curling up painfully as he tried to pull away from the monster leeched upon his neck, draining the very life-force out of him.

Just when he thought that was the worse, another Rasetsu came up from the front and sank its incisors down on the other side of his neck. Pain exploded within every molecule of his body, it felt as though it might explode from within, destroying his body in the process. Immobilized by pain, Sano wondered numbly if this was it.

Shinpachi. Heisuke. Chizuru. Saitou. Taichou. Futaicho.

It became a mantra in his head as he felt his body giving up slowly. He could no longer register the pain and it all felt numb. He felt his knees give way and he collapsed onto the blood-soaked ground, pulling the two Rasetsu with him. Loud thumps rang through the air, and Sano wondered if that was the last few beats of his heart.

He felt those arms around his torso release and his limp body collapsed; his mind shutting down blocking out all the sounds of fighting.

OoooOoooO

“Drink.”

The warm viscous substance entered his mouth and slid down his throat. It felt like he was drinking down thick concentrated tea. He could not taste anything, but he knew he was thirsty, because once he started drinking the liquid, he kept wanting more.

Sano inclined his head to reach the source of the liquid; he was so very thirsty. His mouth automatically enclosed around the source of the liquid and he started to suck on it, because he realized that more would enter his mouth by doing that. He tried to open his eyes, but they were heavy – his mind just kept asking him to drink whatever he was sucking in now.

“Can you open your eyes?” muttered the same voice.

The voice was awfully familiar, but Sano could not place a finger on it. He could not remember where he heard it - all he wanted to do now was to continue drinking the liquid. Quite abruptly, the source of the liquid was removed from his reach, Sano hissed at its absence and his eyes snapped open to glare at the person for taking away his drink.

“Give it back.” Sano growled as he glared into amethyst coloured irises.

The man before him smirked, cocking his head.

“Is this how you treat your benefactor?”

“I don’t care who you are to me. Give it back.” Sano growled angrily.

Whatever that drink was, it was invigorating. He yearned more of it. So what if he owe this man before him a favor, he was not going to forgive him for taking away something that was giving him strength, especially after the attacks from those Rasetsu.

Then it hit him.

His hands rose to either sides of his neck and he felt barely healed wounds. The memory of being tackled down by two Rasetsu and the battle flooded his mind. He closed his eyes to try and piece everything together.

“Remember everything now eh?”

Sano opened his eyes and glanced around. Bodies of his comrades and Rasetsu littered the ground. He himself was soaked in blood, he reached up and wiped his mouth with the back of his hand and was surprised to see red covering the length of his arm.

“Wa-was I drinking b-blood?!” Sano yelled in surprise.

He looked over to the man before him; his right wrist showed evidence of a half-healed wound covered in blood.

“Tcch. Took you long to notice.” Shiranui smirked.

“You kept drinking and wouldn’t stop. If you had continued, I would have been drained of my own life-force.”

Sano struggled to sit upright but succumbed to the wave of nausea. An arm circled around his waist and he was pulled up.

“Two of your soldiers managed to escape. I bet they went to inform that hot-headed friend of yours of your defeat.” Shiranui chuckled.

“I was not defeated.” Sano muttered. His limps were still not cooperating with him; they were still numb and refused to stand on their own.

“This is the second time I’ve saved your ass. How are you going to repay your debt this time?” Shiranui asked as he helped the injured man away from the bloody area.

“So, you were the one who fired those shots.” Sano said as he recalled hearing loud shots thinking it was the beating of his heart then, but it made sense now.

“Tcch. Why is your body taking so long to react? My blood is as powerful as that Chizuru’s.”

Hearing Chizuru’s name, Sano looked up and stared hard at the demon.

“What have you done to me?” He inquired, unable to keep the quiver of apprehension out of his voice.

“Why, you were the one who kept on drinking. If I hadn’t saved you, you wouldn’t be able to see your dear Shinsengumi again. Shouldn’t you thank me?” Shiranui taunted.

“You’re a half demon now Sanosuke Harada. Like it or hate it, you’ll just have to accept it.”

Sano stumbled away from the demon and caught a glimpse of himself in a bucket of water nearby. Blood was splattered all over his face, over his new western uniform, even in his hair. His golden irises had a tinge of red, something that was never there until tonight. From the reflection, he saw Shiranui’s face appear just above his left shoulder.

“There’s nothing wrong with being a demon. On contrary, your senses are heightened, your skills increased.” His arm snaked across Sano’s shoulders and rested there. “Shouldn’t you be happy?”

“SANO!” Shinpachi’s scream erupted from nearby.

Sano jerked his head in the direction from where it came from. His heart swelled as he noticed the worry-tinged voice. Shinpachi rarely showed his concern for him and now it was evident even in his voice.

“Ah, here comes your hot-headed friend. I’d better be off then; I’ve had enough trouble for one night. However,” Shiranui leaned forward and captured Sano’s lips quickly, allowing his tongue to dart into the cavity and tease the other.

“I know how you can repay your debt now, my pet.” Shiranui stepped back from the startled young man presenting his infamous smirk.

Licking his lips, Shiranui disappeared into the shadows and out of Edo in less than a split second. Sano overcame his initial surprise felt his cheeks burn. Never had he ever felt so violated, especially by a man!

And what did he call him? His pet?!

Stumbling out of the alleyway, Sano found Shinpachi, covered in blood himself but luckily it looked like he had only suffered minor injuries. His friend rushed over to him, mothering him over, checking to make sure he was alright, no gaping wounds, no broken bones before punching Sano in the jaw, hard.

“What the fuck did you think you were doing? As a captain what made you think you could die so easily?” Shinpachi bellowed angrily glaring daggers at Sano.

“Those two idiots said you were- you were… ARGH! Don’t you EVER dare do this ever again you hear me!”

Sano couldn’t help but smile. His idiot of a best friend looked like he was on the verge of crying, although he knew he would never do that. Rubbing his bruised jaw, Sano gave Shinpachi his best smile, to tell his friend that he was fine and that he was sorry.

“Let’s get back, we’re not done for tonight!” Sano laughed as he picked up his spear and his sword.

As they ran towards the West of Edo, Sano thought of the kiss he just shared (unwillingly) with the demon. He was rescued from Death’s door thanks to the blood flowing within his veins now, but because of that he was in the same league as the Rasetsu unit in the Shinsengumi.

As they closed in on the screams and metal-against-metal sound, Sano made a mental note, to get his revenge on the demon, for stealing his first kiss.

He thought he was fine. He said he was fine. He made himself believe he was fine.

Everyone knew otherwise.

He quickly walked off stage, wiping vigorously at his face. He had no idea why his eyes had started to sting; he had no idea why his heart had suddenly constrict so tightly; he had no idea why this sudden wave of misery had so suddenly come over him. During their concert; in the middle of one of their songs no less.
He pulled his hood tightly over his head as Sorry Sorry – Answer came on. He knew he still had ample time to gather his emotions and get back on stage, showing off that smile he had learnt to perfect over the years.

From overhead, Heechul heard something that made him freeze. Shock and surprise overwhelmed him as he listened; over the music blasting from the numerous speakers, came a chant, over and over again, the same name was being repeated. The name he had missed so much. For the past few weeks, he had hated that person who was bound to that name. The man who had made him cry every night alone, under the covers, hoping the younger members would not hear him.

Hangeng! Hangeng! Hangeng! Hangeng! Hangeng!

His lips formed a smile, a genuine one that had been missing ever since Kangin got into that accident, and it had got even worse when he ‘left’. He felt a tear slide on his cheek. He would never admit it, but he was afraid, so afraid that that man would really leave Super Junior and inevitably leave him. Closing his eyes, he felt hot tears forming once again at the corner of his eyes; he wanted so badly to just leave the building and call the said man and shout all sorts of vulgarities at him, a single A4 piece of paper would not be adequate.

He felt a hand on his shoulder and turned. Anchovy boy was looking at him with a sad smile on his face. He quickly wiped his tears and tried to laugh it off, but the younger boy dismissed it with a shake of his head.

“Hyung,” Hyukjae muttered.

Just one word and Heechul felt as though his tear ducts had exploded; tears kept running down his face as he covered his face with Hyukjae’s shirt. He did not want to appear weak in front of the younger ones, but he could not help it, his one pillar of support was missing and the chances of him leaving were high.

Hyukjae patted Heechul’s back soothingly; knowing exactly why his hyung was so upset. Seeing him break down during Shining Star was enough to tell all the other members what the law suit meant to him.

“Hankyung-hyung would be fine and will be back with us on stage in no time. He asked Teukie-hyung to pass this to you.” Hyukjae said as he passed a small note to Heechul.

Pulling away from Hyukjae’s shirt, he took the piece of paper from him and opened it.

Chullie, do well for the concert! Sorry that I am not able to say this to in people. Manager-hyung said that I should not go out so often as the media would be on my foot as soon as I step out of the house. Plus, he took away my phoone so I cannot contact you. =( Hoping to see you soon! 我爱你。
                                                                                                                                                Love Geng
“Babo, your hangul is still as bad as ever, even with me teaching you…” Heechul laughed.

He looked up only to find Hyukjae missing; the song was already in the middle of the first chorus. He smiled once again, silently thanking the anchovy and the fake angel for all that they have done. This must have been what they had gone to get when they disappeared from the stadium for two hours.

Hangeng may not be here in the flesh, but it seems, he will never be able to be gone from their sides totally. No matter what, once a Super Junior member, always a Super Junior member.

Pulling back his hood, he jumped on stage and started to sing; it felt as though a huge weight had been removed from his mind, and it felt so good to be able to smile genuinely.

Babo.
Saranghae…
